In celebration of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce Fashion Committee presented the first ever Greek American Fashion Week Event this past September at the Midtown Loft and Terrace in Manhattan. The fashion event featured Spring/Summer 2013 collections from the very talented: Timothy George, ENOE ME by Lia Kastanidi, Angelo Lambrou and Tatiana Raftis.

In addition to an artistic and stunning runway show, the night included an endless amount of Greek hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts from Loi Restaurant, signature drinks by Ya Mastiha, music by Trump SoHo Resident DJs NYNY Live, a special performance by the “Violin Diva” Sarina Suno and gift bags containing goodies from Korres and The Artisanal Kitchen. Event attendees were able to take part in a high-end silent auction featuring items from MANA, Diane Von Furstenburg, MAKE, Dennis Basso, Kensie, Livanou, Jet Airways, Godiva and many more.

It is safe to say that the show blew everyone away and even impressed the American media, CBS News listed the Greek American Fashion Week Event as the number 3 best New York Fashion Week Event. The eclectic group of Greek-American designers have made themselves easily accessible, no need to contact agents or assistants here! For those that want something special in their closet hot off the runway, simply go to the website of the designer of your choice and drop them an email. You will not only be supporting the young Greek-American fashion movement, you will also have a unique garment that no one else can go out and buy.
